Weird News Central: All-Time Dumbest Diets

NEW YORK (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – If you think Taco Bell’s new “Drive-Thru Diet” is a bad weight-loss plan, try “The Mini Fork.”

Proponents of the teeny-tiny utensil claim that by using it, dieters won’t scarf down their food nearly as fast.

This week, AOL Senior Correspondent Buck Wolf is looking back at some of the most dubious diet schemes of all time.

They include...

  • Vision-Dieter Glasses: Goggles that make food look terrible.

  • Fletcherism: A school of dieting that advocated aggressive chewing to the point where food becomes liquified.

  • Tape Worm Therapy: Swallowing an intestinal parasite that would eat up your innards – and sometimes kill you in the process.

Wolf explains, “Taco Bell is hardly the first company to try to recast themselves as diet-friendly. In the 1920s, cigarette companies tried to sell nicotine as the ultimate weight-loss tool.”
