RoadsideAmerica.com, the Internets go-to guide to offbeat tourist attractions, has released an iPhone app that helps road warriors find fun, quirky places to visit.
Users input their location and kooky museums and monuments, like the Robot Hut in Elk, Washington, or Houstons giant blue saxophone made of old cars, pop up with directions on how to get there.
Site publisher Doug Kirby says the app adds to the road trip experience because travelers can find weird, obscure places that will break up the monotony of a long car journey.
He adds, I always hated when wed get home from a road trip and realize that the coolest thing ever was only a block away and we missed it. Now with the app, people can scoop up everything cool during a trip.
