iPhone App Goes To Weird Places

SAN FRANCISCO (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – It’ll be a long, strange trip with the help of one iPhone application.

RoadsideAmerica.com, the Internet’s go-to guide to offbeat tourist attractions, has released an iPhone app that helps road warriors find fun, quirky places to visit.

Users input their location and kooky museums and monuments, like the Robot Hut in Elk, Washington, or Houston’s giant blue saxophone made of old cars, pop up with directions on how to get there.

Site publisher Doug Kirby says the app adds to the road trip experience because travelers can find weird, obscure places that will break up the monotony of a long car journey.

He adds, “I always hated when we’d get home from a road trip and realize that the coolest thing ever was only a block away and we missed it. Now with the app, people can scoop up everything cool during a trip.”
