Weird News Central: Doomsday’s Gloomy History

NEW YORK (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Mark your calendar: Doomsday is coming – again, and again, and again.

The ancient Mayans say the world will end in December 2012.

However, a group of UFO believers, the Raelians, are positive that Kingdom Come is coming in 2035.

Then there are biblical prophets who are focused on 2033 – the 2,000th anniversary of the crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus.

This week, AOL’s Senior Correspondent Buck Wolf looks back on a few famous Doomsdays and the know-it-alls who got it wrong.

Nostradamus predicted the world would end in 1999. Edgar Casey – America’s most renowned psychic of the 1930s – saw the world in a watery grave by 1969.

Don’t forget Hal Lindsey, author of the mega- seller The Late Great Planet Earth (Zondervan), who predicted “The Rapture” on or before December 31, 1981.

Wolf adds, “All these guys have one thing in common – they were wrong.”
