The 101st Annual Newport Beach Christmas Boat Parade is sailing into Newport Beach, California, today (Dec. 16) through Sunday (Dec. 20), where boats replace floats.
More than 100 boats of all shapes and sizes will march on the water, all decked out with crazy Christmas displays.
Boat floats range in size from fancy, 120-foot yachts to little, single-occupancy kayaks.
Riders spend thousands pimping out their vessels with everything Christmas including lights, giant inflatable Santas, and dancing elves.
Jessica Quadra, spokesperson for the event says folks are known to party on their boats during the procession.
However, things never get too wild because the harbor patrol keeps the party under control.
Despite the waves, no boats have ever run into each other along the parade route. Spectators watch the event from dry land.
