Text And The City

NEW YORK (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – One scavenger hunt is encouraging lots of text in New York City.

A company called Stray Boots helps people get to know the Big Apple through a scavenger hunt that sends folks on a wild goose chase through various parts of NYC to find different landmarks with clues sent to them via text message.

To get a new clue, players must answer a question about the landmark.

Creator Avi Millman says, “It’s a really fun way to see the city. New York becomes a big game board.”

Not only does the game take visitors to well-known attractions like Times Square and Rockefeller Center, they’ll also “peak into a bucket of frogs in Chinatown” to get the full New York experience.

However, Millman assures he won’t send players into the “ghetto,” though it might be fun to create a scarier version of the game.

He jokes, “All you’d need are comfortable shoes and a weapon.”
