Tweets Get Animated

TAMPA, Fla. (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Twitter talk has become cartoonish.

People’s random rants on Twitter are getting animated thanks to illustrator Greg Williams’ series of Twitter- inspired comic strips called TWIPS.

Williams takes the funniest, cleverest tweets he finds on the social update site and creates funny drawings to match, including one of movie critic Gene Shalit trying to put on a silly disguise to match the tweet, “What does Gene Shalit wear to comically disguise himself?”

Finding a tweet that can translate into a comic is “daunting” with so many people using Twitter to write their banal daily activities.

He explains, “I want to use something that’s not just about what they ate for breakfast or what their cat did.”

Williams is careful not to draw tweets from celebrities in Twitterville mainly because he’s not sure if it’s really them.

He did, however, create a piece for The Office’s Rainn Wilson which the actor later posted on his page.
