Just ask Marissa Jaret Winokur, host of Oxygens weight-loss dancing series, Dance Your Ass Off, airing its season finale on Monday (Aug. 31).
According to the Tony-winning Broadway star, the jive is the most effective dance for dropping the pounds.
Case in point: The week she danced the jive on Dancing With The Stars in 2008 was the week she shed the most weight.
She lost four pounds without even trying, leading her to tout the jive as a surefire fix for junk in the trunk.
Winokur says the best part of dancing as exercise is that the time spent working out flies by.
Its more fun than the treadmill, and through Dance Your Ass Off, Winokur hopes folks can see that more than a few pounds can be shed by busting a move.
