Dancing In The Streets

NEW YORK (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Why can’t the world be a big, fabulous musical?

New Yorker Ryan Mackey begged that question and decided to answer it by founding Break Out In Song, an organization that stages random musical theater performances on the streets of New York.

The group once broke into “Consider Yourself” from Oliver right in the middle of Times Square.

As a boy, Mackey always wished that real life could be one big musical number where “everyone knows the same song and dance moves.”

After seeing Internet videos of flashmobs – people that put on performances in public places – he was inspired to do the same.

He cashed in his 401k and savings, and got everyone he could involved to help brighten people’s days with sweet music.

Though he hasn’t gotten Broadway stars like Hugh Jackman and Liza Minelli in on the act, he’s hoping to create new theater buffs with his work.
