NEW YORK – A new form of hip-hop is emerging. City Of God’s Son is an experimental hip-hop opera starring Nas, Jay-Z, Notorious B.I.G., Samuel Jackson, Lawrence Fishburne, and Al Pacino among others in a new viral video made completely from samples and re-appropriated audio/visual media. LOS ANGELES – The final recordings of ’60s staple Mama Cass Elliot will be reissued August 25 on a CD titled Cass Elliot: The Road Is No Place For A Lady. The recordings are originally from 1968-1971, after Elliot – of the Mamas & the Papas fame – dropped the “Mama” and did her own thing. The reissue includes two previously unreleased tracks.
