The 19th Annual Sidewalk Egg Frying Contest sizzles into Oatman, Arizona, this Saturday (Jul. 4), where folks will cook up eggs on the ground using nothing but the hot Arizona sun and homemade contraptions.
Participants will have to be careful what they cook at the egg-citing competition, however, because burros roam free on the streets of Oatman, often taking a poop wherever they please.
Spokesperson Jackie Rowland says residents try to chase the burros away to keep them from entering the competition grounds so they dont end up dropping a deuce on anyones egg.
She says, We wont let them cook a burro biscuit with gravy.
Even if the burros crap doesnt end up in the eggs, Rowland says its not a good idea for anyone to eat any of them because burro poo dust may float into them without anyone realizing it.
