Renowned fatherhood expert Armin Brott runs the dad advice website, misterdad.com, and says many dads express interest in being hip on the stuff their kids enjoy, like texting, social networking sites, and music.
He says most dads hope theyre cool enough so that their kids will friend them on Facebook or make them music mixes, but theres a fine line between being a hip dad and an annoying one.
Brott recommends dads spend more time listening to their kids rather than trying to keep up with trends and technology.
He notes that dads today are more actively involved with their kids than ever, and bombard his site with questions about every child-related subject possible.
Hes been asked everything from how to discipline stepchildren or deal with kids as a military dad, to what to do if you accidentally drop a baby on the floor.
