Cowabunga! New Yorkers Break Ninja Turtle Record

NEW YORKER (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – A swarm of heroes in a half- shell invaded New York City and broke a World Record doing so.

Last Thursday (Apr. 23), the Tribeca Film Festival held a screening of the cult classic Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and took advantage of the thousands in attendance to break the Guinness World Record for most face masks of Ninja Turtles worn in one location.

Nancy Schafer, executive director of the festival, says 1,200 participants helped set the record.

Schafer says she never knew the film festival’s first record breaking moment would involve Ninja Turtle face masks.

Although she hopes the festival will keep the record, she admits that if someone were to break it they wouldn’t be in a rush to win it back.
