Rockabilly legend Wanda Jackson best known for her 1960 hit, Lets Have A Party is being honored in the Early Influence category, and is happy to be finally getting pioneering props.
She says, I think its about time. After they made a documentary about my life, I figured this would be the year.
The 71-year-old singer is happy shes still here to accept the honor and cant wait to deliver her already written acceptance speech.
She explains, I started it and words just seemed to flow. I might be nervous, but if I put a melody to it, I wont have a problem at all.
Jackson is looking forward to sharing the stage with fellow inductees like Metallica and hopes they write a song for her next album even though she hasnt heard their music.
