Newest Rock Hall Of Famer Ready To ‘Have A Party’

CLEVELAND (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – The 2009 class of the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame gets inducted tomorrow night (Apr. 4) in Cleveland, and one honoree is ready to have a party.

Rockabilly legend Wanda Jackson – best known for her 1960 hit, “Let’s Have A Party” – is being honored in the Early Influence category, and is happy to be finally getting pioneering props.

She says, “I think it’s about time. After they made a documentary about my life, I figured this would be the year.”

The 71-year-old singer is happy she’s “still here” to accept the honor and can’t wait to deliver her already written acceptance speech.

She explains, “I started it and words just seemed to flow. I might be nervous, but if I put a melody to it, I won’t have a problem at all.”

Jackson is looking forward to sharing the stage with fellow inductees like Metallica and hopes they write a song for her next album – even though she hasn’t heard their music.
