40 Years Brings New ‘Dimension’ Of Love To Famous Duo

LOS ANGELES (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Former 5th Dimension singers Marilyn McCoo and Billy Davis, Jr. celebrate their 40th anniversary this year, so you’d think Valentine’s Day (Feb. 14) would be big for them.

Guess again.

The couple – who had a No. 1 hit in 1976 with “You Don’t Have To Be A Star (To Be In My Show)” – admit they don’t always celebrate Valentine’s Day, because, as Davis puts it, “We try to make every day Valentine’s Day.”

He adds, “We have great friendship and we’re together all the time, so we enjoy ours every day.”

The duo is honoring the love holiday with a new CD, The Many Faces Of Love, that includes their versions of songs like “You Are So Beautiful” and “We Can Work It Out.”

But while McCoo and Davis enjoy singing great songs for a living, they don’t always rely on the lyrics for romantic advice in their own personal lives.

McCoo says, “Love is part of what we live. We don’t have to go to the lyrics.”
