‘SAG Awards’ Don’t Come Cheap

LOS ANGELES (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – The 15th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards air January 25 on TBS, but the glitz and glamour of it all doesn’t come easy.

To get the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles ready for the big event, crews must lay down 16,476.145 square feet of plush red carpet for celebrity arrivals.

Other massive SAG stats include...

  • Five classic “Actor” statues will be positioned along the red carpet and stage.

  • Eight antique chrome and glass art deco chandeliers will be hung above the stage and from the Expo Hall’s ornate ceiling.

  • 3,600 pieces of fancy crystal stemware, 2,400 pieces of silver plated flatware, and 1,200 black china chargers will be placed on 86 tables where actors and members of the SAG will dine and mingle.

  • The tables will feature a total of 408 bottles of red and white wine, while the bars will boast 192 bottles for wine tasting. There will also be 378 magnums of champagne floating around.

  • The menu will feature delicacies like Dungeness crab salad, sugar cane lacquered chicken, short rib, and hand-made breadsticks from renowned chef Alan Jackson.
