Thats because its National Grouch Day, a holiday inspired by testy teacher Alan R. Miller, who has an education in Grouch 101.
Miller says a student created the day because she wanted to get even with him for assigning excruciatingly hard homework.
Miller says anyone can pay tribute to the grouch in their life by, Sending roses minus the roses just the thorns.
He also says you can take a grouch to lunch and make him or her pay the bill.
He makes no apologies for his cranky persona and justifies his grouchy habits in the classroom.
Says Miller: Im easy going until students start pulling Kleenex off my desk and I have to say, Hey! Stop that and use your sleeve. Being a grouch is my job and Im darn good at it.
