Don’t Badmouth ‘My Name Is Earl’

LOS ANGELES (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – The mind behind My Name is Earl has a warning for mouthy celebrities: Don’t talk smack about his show!

Last week, Earl creator Greg Garcia exchanged some choice words with notorious mudslinger Alec Baldwin.

After Baldwin criticized NBC for promoting the “done” and “cooked” My Name is Earl more than his show 30 Rock, Garcia came to the defense of his baby, calling Baldwin a “psychotic narcissist” and “stupid.”

Now, Garcia is explaining his angry tirade against the trash talkin’ A-lister.

He says, “When you create something and have a family there, as head of the family, I have to say something. I won’t throw the first punch, but I’ll definitely come out swinging.”

There may be an ulterior motive behind the whole controversy, however.

Earl star Jason Lee jokes, “I’m actually friends with Alec Baldwin. I got him to say those things so we can get press for the show.”

My Name is Earl premieres September 25 on NBC.
