Wacky And Weird Contests Rule New Jersey

OCEAN CITY, N.J. (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Things are getting weird next week (Aug. 18-22) in Ocean City, New Jersey.

The seaside town is hosting its 20th Annual Weird Contest week, and wacky spokesman Mark Soifer says everyone comes out a winner during at least one of their kooky competitions.

He says the most popular event of the week is the “Chaos Contest,” where toddlers are set free on a stage to do what they do best – create chaos.

Soifer explains, “They bang on pots and pans, hammer pegs, throw rubber balls, etc. The boy and girl who create the most chaos in one minute are the winners. This is our most outlandish contest; I made it up.”

Other contests scheduled for the week include french fry and saltwater taffy sculpting battles, as well as a pageant to crown “Mr. and Mrs. Miscellaneous” for, as Soifer puts it, “People who might have missed the bus for the other competitions.
