‘Dance’ Eliminee Learns To Hip-Hop In Heels

CARROLLTON, Texas (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – The latest So You Think You Can Dance eliminee had a hard time dancing hip-hop in heels.

Comfort Fedoke – a hip-hop dancer from Carrollton, Texas – was eliminated from SYTYCD last Thursday (Jul. 9), and says the TV dance-off was tougher than any street battle she’s ever danced.

She says going from hip-hop to “dancing in heels and little dresses” was a huge change for her because she had to learn to hold back and be softer.

She explains, “On this show you have time constraints and certain choreography that you have to follow. That’s so much different than the freestyle hip-hop dancing I’m used to.”

Still, Fedoke was able to incorporate her pop-lockin’ steps and even taught her classically trained opponents her cool street moves.

She says, “We had mini poppin’ lessons backstage and I’d tell them, ‘You gotta get lose with it!’ I helped them with their hip-hop routines and they helped me learn how to dance contemporary.”
