OMG! Texting Is An Ageist Sport

SAN DIEGO (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – You make think you’re up to par with your texting skills, but it takes young, nimble fingers to truly be a texting titan.

On Wednesday (Jul. 9), the 2nd Annual LG Texting Championships will send thumbs into a frenzy in New York, where 18 of America’s quickest hands will compete for the title of fastest texter.

According to LG marketing manager Jason Swinford, tech-savvy tweens are going to be hard to beat at the button-pushing battle.

He says, “I think a younger person is going to take the crown. It’s like their thumbs are more dexterous. I get smoked at texting by my nephew all the time.”

For those who don’t have age on their side, Swinford says practice makes perfect, along with some handy warm ups.

He explains, “Finger yoga is important. Get some music on, stretch your thumbs back and forth, and do windmills with your thumbs to the beat.”

Swinford also advises players to stick to using their thumbs, because only people with tiny Smurf fingers can fully type on a cell phone.
