Ay, Chihuahua! Mix It Up On Cinco De Mayo (May 5)

SAN DIEGO (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Margaritas will be flowing on Cinco de Mayo (May 5), but there are plenty of cocktail options to help celebrate the Mexican holiday.

For instance, a “Tequila Sunrise” combines orange juice, grenadine, and tequila, while a “Sombrebro” mixes up Kahlua and tequila with cream or milk.

You could also throw back a “Mexico City Madman,” which pours light tequila, Bacardi 151, green Chartreuse Liqueur, and a squeeze of lime over ice in a rocks glass.

Another south-of-the-border drink is a “Mexi-tini,” which strains orange vodka, orange juice, and – what else? – tequila into a chilled martini glass.

A “Mexican Coffee” is a sweet treat which combines Kahlua with hot, black coffee, whipped cream, and sugar.

But if you’d rather stick to the basics on Cinco de Mayo, go for a traditional “Cadillac Margarita,” which includes tequila, triple sec, lime juice, sweet & sour mix, and a sidecar of Grand Marnier.

A simple cerveza like Corona or Tecate are also good ways to start the fiesta.
