Summer Blockbusters Inspire Stateside Vacations

LOS ANGELES (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – This summer’s blockbusters are influencing Americans to take stateside vacations on location., the nation’s leading moviegoer destination, is conducting an ongoing poll to see which movie locations Americans plan on visiting during vacation this summer, and it looks like the leading destinations are all close to home.

So far, film fans indicate that they’re likely to follow the cinematic footsteps of Indiana Jones, Iron Man, Batman, and Carrie Bradshaw this summer.

For instance, 38 percent of movie buffs want to travel to the Big Island of Hawaii just like Harrison Ford does in Indiana Jones And the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull.

About 23 percent want to make Southern California their vacation destination because of Iron Man, while 15 percent would rather visit Chicago and check out the sights from The Dark Knight.

A classy vacation in Manhattan a la Sex and the City is alluring to 11 percent of travelers, while 5 percent want to hit the slots in Sin City like Cameron Diaz and Ashton Kutcher in What Happens In Vegas.

Overall, 79 percent of American moviegoers expect to visit a movie location as part of their vacation plans.
