Rival Politicians And Freakish Fruit Share Home

HOPE, Ark. (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Politicians and giant watermelons now live under one roof.

Hope, Arkansas, is known as the hometown of former president Bill Clinton, as well as being home to the biggest watermelons in the world, so the town put its two claims to fame together and built the “Bill Clinton and Big Melons Museum” at the Hope Visitor’s Center.

Now the museum is adding political players Mike Huckabee and Hillary Clinton to the museum, since Huckabee also comes from Hope and Clinton has visited with her husband many times.

While the politicians and the fruit don’t seem to have much in common, museum director Gary Johnson says they do since the Clintons and Huckabee have been a part of the town’s famous Watermelon Festival.

Though Johnson is glad that Hope has become a breeding ground of future presidents, it’s still the watermelons that hold a special place in the town’s heart.
