‘Idol’ Reject Will Explain Simon Cowell’s Role To Son

BRANSON, Mo. (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – American Idol cast- off Jason Yeager is ready to have a serious talk with his 10-year-old son about Simon Cowell.

Yeager – who was given the boot from Idol last Thursday (Feb. 28) – constantly endured harsh criticism from Simon Cowell during his stint on the show, and hopes his young son will understand that the rude judge meant no harm.

As of late, Yeager hasn’t had the chance to discuss Cowell’s cold comments with his kid, but hopes he’ll understand that Idol is “just a TV show.”

He says, “I need to explain to him that Simon’s job on American Idol is to play the role of a mean guy, and neither one of us should take it personal. Still, if my son was a fan of Simon’s at one point, he’s not a fan now!”

But in the end, Yeager believes his son won’t have any hard feelings that’ll lead him to seek revenge on the brash Brit, so Simon can rest easy.

He adds, “My son won’t come back to Idol when he’s older to yell at Simon ‘You voted my dad off!’ or anything.”
