Put A Little Thought Into Your Gadget Gifts

NEW YORK (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – This holiday season, it’s the thought – and the technology – that counts during gift giving.

According to a new survey conducted by Office Depot, technology is topping everyone’s list this season, with 50 percent of shoppers choosing flat-screen and plasma TVs as the top item on their holiday hit list.

And while 42 percent of people are asking Santa for a laptop, and 30 percent want to snap up a digital camera, Hillary Mendelsohn, Office Depot’s gift-giving guru, has some advice to keep you from breaking the holiday bank when shopping for that special someone.

If a pricey plasma’s not in your budget, Mendelsohn says try less expensive options like a digital photo frame, a portable USB drive, or Bluetooth headphones, and always make sure to include a personal note to show you care.

She says, “Ultimately, it’s the thought that counts. We all receive gifts that we know are re-gifted or gotten at the last second. When you spend five minutes thinking about a person, you can get them something they really love without having to dig into your pockets too deep.”
