Parade Cheers On Childhood

SAN DIEGO (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – A long-running parade in San Diego is hoping to score a huge hit with children of all ages.

The 61st Annual Mother Goose Parade is cruising into El Cajon, California, on November 18, and features Tinseltown teen titans like Jesse McCartney, Nickelodeon’s Drake Bell, and Hannah Montana’s Emily Osment riding the reveling route.

According to Jillian Hanson-Cox, president of the Mother Goose Parade Association, the parade is sure to stay on course with carefree kids.

Hanson-Cox says “A lot of parades get political, but we put the brakes on that and said we need to bring this back to the kids!”

While the parade has a grown up side too, with appearances from Robert Wagner, Katherine McPhee, and Mario Lopez, for Hanson-Cox, the celebration is churning up some cherished childhood memories.

A lifelong El Cajon resident, Hanson-Cox remembers seeing Fred Rogers, Shari Lewis, and one super soft celebrity that was very special to her.

She says, “I used to love the commercial with the Charmin toilet paper guy. I remember when he came to the parade I was so excited!”
