Gelato Parlor Creatively Cools Off

VANCOUVER, B.C. (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – When it comes to strange and surprising flavors, one gelato parlor in Vancouver is leaving the competition out in the cold.

La Casa Gelato is creaming the competition by offering more than 500 flavors – 218 of which are always on tap – including garlic, blue cheese, porcini mushroom, and even Akbar Mashty – a flavor modeled after a Persian dessert, with rosewater, pistachio, and saffron.

Co-owner Pina Miscero says despite taste-terrifying flavors like wasabi and curry, some of the stranger concoctions keep people coming back for seconds.

Miscero says, “I don’t like the garlic gelato, but we have customers that come from other towns just for that – they don’t even look at the other flavors.”

And while Miscero claims “the balsamic vinegar flavor is better than wine,” you won’t find any of the funky flavors in her freezer at home.

She says, “I have enough when I’m here!”
