Jeanne Wolf’s Hollywood: Celebrity Advance Items From Movies.Com

HOLLYWOOD (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Hollywood heartthrob George Clooney may play a tough, reliable lawyer in the upcoming film Michael Clayton, but he tells columnist Jeanne Wolf he’s a softie at heart, especially when it comes to crying – at his own movies! Clooney admits, “At the premiere of Batman and Robin, I cried. There were a couple moments in Peacemaker that made me cry...the beginning and the end.”

HOLLYWOOD – Actress Tilda Swinton plays the chief counsel for a big corporation in Michael Clayton, and she tells Jeanne Wolf that for a moment, her character made her feel like one particularly powerful politician. Swinton explains, “There’s one scene where my hair is sort of shaped into this helmet with mousse and hairspray. I felt sort of like a warrior getting ready for battle. I kept thinking, ‘She [my character] wants to look like Condoleezza Rice.’”

HOLLYWOOD – Oscar-winning beauty Cate Blanchett is dressing in drag and showing off her manly side as she plays music legend Bob Dylan in the upcoming film I’m Not There, and she definitely had to do some adjusting – both mentally and physically – to fit the part. Blanchett tells Jeanne Wolf, “Of course you have to strap your breasts down. Then one of my friends gave me a sock to stuff down the front of my pants. Then I realized it was going to be difficult to play someone you’re in utter awe of. I’ve only encountered Dylan through music. I’m terrified to meet him.”

HOLLYWOOD – Funnyman Ben Stiller is pushing the envelope to make audiences laugh in the new Farrelly Brothers comedy, The Heartbreak Kid, and he had to prep himself for some wildly acrobatic sex scenes with his on- screen bride from hell, actress Malin Akerman. Stiller tells Jeanne Wolf, “A little bit of stretching before filming helped, but I should have stretched more. I’m not as young as I used to be. I promise you, I’ve never had moments like that in real life.”

HOLLYWOOD – Actor Jerry Stiller plays a potty-mouthed papa to his real-life son Ben Stiller in the comedy The Heartbreak Kid, and Ben tells Jeanne Wolf that his dad’s on-screen antics were a huge surprise to him. Ben explains, “That was a stretch. I’ve never heard my father curse. Maybe he’s said the ‘S’ word a couple of times. We never talk about sex or women. I never got the birds and the bees things from him – I’m still waiting.”

HOLLYWOOD – The Farrelly Brothers are teaming up with Ben Stiller again and bringing back their risque, R-rated comedy in The Heartbreak Kid, but this time they decided to cut a scene where Stiller practices some familiar animal action. The Farrellys tell Jeanne Wolf, “Ben was fighting some sea lions, and it was great. But it felt so similar to other Ben Stiller movies where he’s fighting animals. In There’s Something About Mary he fought a dog, he fought a ferret in Along Came Polly, and he fought a monkey in Night at the Museum. We just started thinking it makes The Heartbreak Kid feel like another Ben Stiller movie.”
