Thandie Newton’s Royal History

NEW YORK (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Actress Thandie Newton is a silver screen queen, and it may be because of her real royal family lineage.

According to New York-based gossip reporter Baird Jones, the sexy Crash starlet comes from a long line of African royalty, with her own mother being a beloved princess.

Newton – who dished about her family history to Jones at a reception for her new film Run, Fat Boy, Run, directed by Friends actor David Schwimmer – says her royal roots trace back to Africa’s pre-colonial times.

Newton explains, “My mother was a princess in Africa. In pre-colonial times there were many royal lineages in Zimbabwe, and my mother’s was one of the royal lineages. In Africa, every suburb, every borough, had a royal lineage.”

And Newton’s monarchical mom was very popular among the common people.

Newton adds, “My mum remembers people coming through her township and genuflecting outside her house. Despite the colonial advancement, people still recognized her royal lineage even though they were not supposed to.”
