Movie Contest Targets Super Small Screen

SUNNYVALE, CA (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – The Cannes Film Festival is over, but wannabe filmmakers still have a chance to achieve some serious small-screen stardom.

The Treo Mobile Comedy Film Festival is currently accepting submissions for their comedy contest, but the submitted films – which will be broadcast on MobiTV Monday (Sept. 18) until October 18 – come with a tiny catch.

The movies can be no longer than 60 seconds, and are made specifically for the small screen of the Treo mobile phone.

But don’t despair, the mini-movies can be filmed in any format, and the winning flicks will land one lucky moviemaker with the true Tinseltown treatment.

The winning flicks will be judged by Rescue Me actor Adam Ferrara, magicians Penn and Teller, funnyman John Henson, and Curb Your Enthusiasm’s Susie Essman, and the four that tickle the judges’ funny film bones will walk away with Treo products and cool cash prizes of up to $5,000.

The deadline for submissions is September 24. Check out for all the mini-movie mania.
