Drill Your Kids About Healthy Teeth

BRIDGEPORT, W.Va. (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – With back to school in full swing, a dentist in West Virginia has some helpful hints for your kids to sink their teeth into.

Dr. Robert Martino is the CEO of Wilson Martino Dental Associates, and he says that while your kids’ heads are getting filled with knowledge, their teeth aren’t passing the test.

Dr. Martino says, “Going the whole day without brushing your teeth causes a lot of problems.”

For a cavity-free smile, the tooth sleuth suggest kids brush immediately before the bus, pack a travel toothbrush or disposable finger brush, and rinse for one minute after lunch at school, to get rid of any sticky, sugary food left on their teeth.

And while Dr. Martino stays on the front lines of the fight against sour smiles by keeping his four kids away from sugary sodas, even the dentist’s daughter can’t avoid the occasional sugar slip-up.

Dr. Martino says, “My daughter will come home from school and say, ‘I ate a donut today!’ It happens.”
