Jesus In Your Food Is Not A Sign From God

SANTA BARBARA, Calif. (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – On religion expert is cooking up the facts about religious figures you may find in your food.

In response to a Pennsylvania woman who found the word “God” written in seeds in an eggplant last week, methodist minister Dr. J. Gordon Melton says discovering a deity in your diet is a cooked up story.

Melton says people can find religious pictures or words anywhere, and he believes people are discovering God “in the same way we found bunnies in clouds when we were kids.”

But it also appears that the Virgin Mary is doing most of the public appearances.

Melton explains, “A feminine feature is easier to see with its soft folds and veil like thing on the head. With Jesus, you have the whole beard thing to deal with.”

And while finding religion in the kitchen may be a farce, it’s certainly not sour grapes.

Melton says “People get a few chuckles out of the stories. If God wanted to speak to us that way, he’d make it a lot easier.”
