This weekend (Aug. 17-18), the 27th Annual Belly Dance Festival is shaking its way into Salt Lake City, Utah, and thousands of folks are raring up to show off their love handles.
Festival founder and self-proclaimed belly dancing master Yasamina Roque is ecstatic about the event and the chance for people to learn more about belly dancings unique culture.
Festival attendees can become belly dancing divas by learning how to dance with swords and mastering moves from different styles, including tribal and cabaret.
And Roque hopes people will be able to really stomach the experience.
She explains, Some people dont like baseball games, and opera makes them cringe. But hopefully, belly dancing is just right.
