Jeanne Wolf’s Hollywood: Celebrity Advance Items From Movies.Com

HOLLYWOOD (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Harry Potter star Daniel Radcliffe is well on his way to becoming a man, but he tells columnist Jeanne Wolf that he was reduced to child-like tears by his Harry Potter And The Order Of The Phoenix co-star, Gary Oldman, on the set of the film. Radcliffe confesses: “[In one take] Gary said to me, ‘Dan, do you mind if I do something a little more physical?’ I was thinking maybe he was going to give me a hug or something, and he grabbed me and shook me violently while screaming at me. I just started to cry. I don’t know if he’s done it to other actors in the past, but it certainly worked.”

HOLLYWOOD – Harry Potter beauty, Emma Watson, is in suspense like everyone else about which wizard characters will actually make it to the end of J.K. Rowling’s final novel, and she tells Jeanne Wolf that she’s on the fence about the fate of her character, Hermione Granger. Watson says, “Some hackers are claiming that Hermione is going to die, and I’m like, ‘No, no, she’s meant to be with Ron [Rupert Grint]. But I guess from an acting standpoint, it would be good to have a death scene.”

HOLLYWOOD – Christian Bale gets down and dirty for his role as a prisoner of war in the upcoming film Rescue Dawn, but the actor knew what he was getting into as soon as he met with director Werner Herzog to discuss the film. Bale tells Jeanne Wolf, “During the first five minutes I met Werner he said to me, ‘How do you feel about swimming in snake-infested waters? How do you feel about sleeping in the jungle all night and being covered by leeches? How do you feel about dangerous, weird spiders? How do you feel about biting the head off of a snake?’ I quickly figured out this wasn’t a comedy.”

HOLLYWOOD – Actor Steve Buscemi finally gets his break as a leading man who gets to kiss the sexy Sienna Miller in his upcoming film Interview, and he tells Jeanne Wolf that playing a romantic role was a bit of a stretch for him. Buscemi explains, “It was such a departure from the low-life scums I’ve played, that people seem to remember me for it. I think it has to do with the way I look. I have bad teeth and a skinny face, and I look like I’m on drugs. No movie magic is going to change that.”

HOLLYWOOD – A-lister Don Cheadle is slated to play his long-time idol, jazz legend Miles Davis, in an upcoming biopic of his life, and Cheadle tells Jeanne Wolf that he learned the ins and outs of Davis’ strong character while researching for the role. Cheadle says, “You’d have to take everything he said with a grain of salt. Miles would tell a long story, and someone would go, ‘That’s amazing. Did that really happen?’ He’d reply, ‘I don’t f■■■ing know. You figure it out.’ He wasn’t interested in what you thought about him. He was like, ‘I’m about the music. Deal with that.”’

HOLLYWOOD – 24 starlet Elisha Cuthbert is starring in the ultra-gory, torture-horror flick Captivity, and in real life, she likes watching guys get tortured – playing hockey, that is. The blonde beauty tells Jeanne Wolf that growing up in Canada and even writing a blog for the National Hockey League has made her a huge fan of the rough sport. Cuthbert says, “Not only does my brother play hockey, but my mom does too. I’m always ready with a little pep talk for my favorite Kings players like, ‘You’re nose doesn’t look that bad dude, the girls won’t notice,’ and ‘Who needs that tooth anyway?’ Just kidding.”
