Milk Cartons Float In Seattle

SEATTLE (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Row, row, row your boat – that’s made of milk cartons, that is.

Nearly 100 vessels have spilled their milk and are ready to sail the waters in Seattle tomorrow (July 7), for the 36th Annual Seafair Milk Carton Derby.

Event Organizer Dan Wartelle says it takes 100 regular milk cartons for every 50 pounds of weight the boats hold, but one vessel in particular is seaworthy for the lactose intolerant.

Wartelle says, “We do have one entry that’s called Soy Worms. Their boat is made out of soy milk cartons.”

And though milk does a body good, you won’t find any at the race.

As he puts it, “We’ll have ice cream, but we won’t have milk. We will have cows though, at the petting zoo.”
