Jeanne Wolf’s Hollywood: Celebrity Advance Items From Movies.Com

HOLLYWOOD (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Grey’s Anatomy star Katherine Heigl plays a girl who unexpectedly gets pregnant after doing the deed with scruffy Seth Rogen in their new film Knocked Up, and she tells columnist Jeanne Wolf that giving birth on-screen really freaked her out. Heigl admits, “The [birth] scene was pretty gruesome. I’ve always planned to adopt anyway and that definitely reinforced my feelings. I don’t think it’s necessary to go through all of that.”

HOLLYWOOD – Actor Seth Rogen plays a funny stoner who’s about to be a daddy in Knocked Up, but he tells Jeanne Wolf that the fake toking scenes were no fun. Rogen explains, “The stuff we smoked that was supposed to be pot was disgusting. It’s called Wizard Smoke and I don’t know what’s in it. In The Pineapple Express we’re smoking weed in almost every scene, and we used the same stuff. I just hope that 30 years from now they don’t find out it killed us.”

HOLLYWOOD – Seth Rogen scores with sexy starlet Katherine Heigl in Knocked Up, but the scruffy actor tells Jeanne Wolf he’s not sure if a gorgeous woman like Heigl would actually sleep with him. He says, “Women say they want a guy who’s funny. But here’s what I’ve learned: They want a funny guy who looks like Brad Pitt.

HOLLYWOOD – Kevin Costner plays a troubled serial killer in his new film Mr. Brooks, and he confesses to Jeanne Wolf that he got “punk’d” by his buddy Ashton Kutcher into casting Demi Moore as the detective in the film. Costner says, “Ashton read the script and told me, ‘You ought to think about my wife playing the cop or I’m going to punk you.’ I’m just kidding. Ashton didn’t threaten me, but he did convince me Demi would be great.”

HOLLYWOOD – Comedian-turned-actor Dane Cook plays an accomplice to serial killer Kevin Costner in the thriller Mr. Brooks, but Cook recalls going through some hard times before finally breaking into the Hollywood scene. He tells Jeanne Wolf, “15 years ago when I started stand-up there was really nowhere to perform. I was doing laundromats at one point. There was an open mic night at the laundromat that I used to play and there were three people watching. Two of them hated me, and I’d be doing my loads of laundry.”

HOLLYWOOD – Actress Elisabeth Shue stars in the new inspirational sports flick Gracie, and the film is making her get back into sports. Shue tells Jeanne Wolf, “I’m going to be a professional tennis player. I’m going to play at the lowest level, and I don’t expect to win Wimbledon or the U.S. Open, but I want to get my ranking, which is a very tough task. I’m training every day.”
