Snow Golfers Get Teed Off

ZUG, Switzerland (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Neither sleet nor snow stops the mail carriers, and it doesn’t slow down golfers in Zug, Switzerland, either.

The Swiss city is home of the first annual Snow Golf World Championship, which starts March 23, and 40 golfers from countries like England, America and the United Arab Emirates, will be teeing off on a snow-covered nine-hole course.

Luckily, the balls will be orange, so the golfers won’t get too teed off looking for them.

Both men and women are competing in the same match, but to even things out, organizer Jonnase Shmired says the guys “can’t use their woods because the course is not that long.”

In addition, the golfers must trudge their clubs up across the icy course.

The competition will be heated – and not just where golf is concerned.

Event coordinator Christine Schack predicts the male golfers will strive to wear extra stylish snowsuits because, she points out, “They have to look good for the ladies.”
