St. Patty’s Day Is A Blast – Literally

CHESAPEAKE, Va. (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – This St. Patrick’s Day (Mar. 17) will be a blast – literally.

That’s the straight poop from gastroenterologist Dr. Patricia Raymond who says Irish dishes like corned beef and cabbage can wreak havoc on the stomach and cause discomfort when you’re celebrating the holiday.

Says Raymond: “Cabbage is the worst. Even though it’s super healthy for you, it makes for a noisy time downstairs.”

She says it’s also best to stay away from corned beef because the fat makes for a “smelly fart” that is hard to cover up.

However, those hoping to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day with a nice, warm Guinness need not worry about offending their drinking partners – darker ales have less carbonation and therefore suppress any unwanted gas.

Raymond says the only way to avoid an embarrassing situation is to pop a charcoal-filled capsule called a CharcoCap after eating or going to an really loud pub to hide the sound of extra noisy farts.
