TACOMA, Wash. (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – A woman in Tacoma, Washington, is guilty of fraud after teaching her children to pretend to be retarded. Rosie Costello admits she began coaching her two children when they were young to act mentally challenged, and she has collected more than $300,00 from Social Security and other government agencies.

BOSTON – A student at Boston College is in the hospital and another is out on bail after the two got into a dispute over laundry. Brianna Jones stabbed Diana Mirambeaux-Saker after she accused her of pouring bleach in her laundry in their dorm laundry room.

NACOGDOCHES, Texas – A man in Nacogdoches, Texas, got a quite a surprise when his dog started barking at a woman peeing on his front lawn. Two men were also urinating on the lawn, and they proceeded to beat the owner up when he asked them to leave. Officers quickly rushed to the scene and have arrested two of the three culprits.

CLOQUET, Minn. – A 16 year-old boy in Cloquet, Minnesota, is facing jail time for dumping ice water on a 90 year-old woman. The teenager told police he thought it would be “hilarious” to douse the woman in water. This isn’t the first time – the boy is also accused of doing it to two other elderly women at a local nursing home.

HOLLYWOOD (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Jack Nicholson’s cueball look at the Oscars – and his reported illness last fall – had some insiders speculating about his health. Not to worry says columnist Jeanne Wolf. She says the bald ’do is for a role in The Bucket List, where he and Morgan Freeman play terminally ill patients who flee a cancer ward.

HOLLYWOOD – Al Gore isn’t letting An Inconvenient Truth’s Oscar victory go to his head. According to Jeanne Wolf, when one reporter referred to Gore as a “rock star” backstage at the Oscars, he deadpanned, “William Hung is a rock star; I’m just a guy who got his slide show made into a movie.”

HOLLYWOOD – Melissa Etheridge is so happy to win the Oscar for Best Song that she’s made a promise to partner Tammy Lynn Michaels. She tells Jeanne Wolf that the statuette is “the only naked man that will ever be in my bedroom.”

HOLLYWOOD – Jennifer Hudson says her success in Dreamgirls has come thanks to a “borrowed voice.” According to Jeanne Wolf, Hudson says her grandmother had an “amazing voice” but chose not to sing for a living. As Hudson puts it, “My theory is that I have her voice and that if she had gone professional I would have been left in her shadow.”

HOLLYWOOD – Alan Arkin admits he feels ambivalent about his Oscar victory for Little Miss Sunshine. He tells Jeanne Wolf: “I feel a little like a hypocrite because I don’t believe in competitions between artists. I think it’s insane; although an Oscar is a fun insanity, and I’m happy to have it.”

HOLLYWOOD – Forest Whitaker says he had no idea he would win Best Actor for The Last King Of Scotland, but says he did feel some magic in the air – or on his neck. Whitaker tells Jeanne Wolf: “I did feel that something magical was going to happen because I could feel the breath of my ancestors on my neck and a tingle in my body. That’s what happens when my ancestors speak to me. It’s like they are saying, ‘We are walking with you.”’
