Lunchtime Laughs Key For Eddie Murphy

LOS ANGELES (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Eddie Murphy always knew he was funny but he knew he had the stomach for show business when he started doing comedy routines in his old high school lunchroom.

Murphy says he comes from a “naturally funny family,” but knew he had the chops for comedy when he was the center of attention in middle and high school.

Says Murphy: “ I figured out I was funny in the lunchroom, when kids would crowd around the table just to hear what I was gonna say. They would smile and it was cool. It was just one of those things where you knew.”

The Oscar nominee is currently enjoying the attention being given to his dramatic acting in Dreamgirls, but returns to comedy with Norbit, which hits theaters today (Feb. 9).
