Competitor Hopes To Chew Out The Competition

LONGBRANCH, N.J. (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – A competitive eater from Longbranch, New Jersey, hopes he can cut the mustard by setting the world record for pretzel eating.

Competitive eater Arturo Rios has his sights set on becoming the first ever Pretzel Twister eating champion during a consuming competition being held January 20 in Miami.

Rios has only been on the competitive eating circuit six months but says he has what it takes to chew out the competition.

Says Rios: “I love to eat. I only need about ten minutes after a competition and I’m ready to go again.”

Although competitors will be allowed to put ketchup, mustard and salt on their pretzels, Rios says he’s keeping his plain so he has more room in his stomach for what counts.

He started training for the event by eating several pretzels a day and has an unlimited supply of pretzels, thanks to a cousin who works for a pretzel company.

Explains Rios: “I have 50 pounds of pretzels out in my refrigerator right now waiting for me.”
