Vacation Resort Goes Out A Limb

TAKILMA, Ore. (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – One vacation resort in Takilma, Oregon, wants its visitors to go out on a limb – a tree limb that is.

That’s the concept behind the “Out N’ About Treehouse Treesort,” which invites Swiss Family Robinson wannabes to rent out one of their 18 fully furnished treehouses.

The treehouses range from 8-feet to 32-feet off the ground and are built atop giant oak and fir trees smack dab in the middle of nature. “Treesort” owner Michael Garnier says his usual clients are adventurous families looking for a fun vacation.

Says Garnier: “Kids say this place is better than Disneyland and adults love it too because they remember their childhood and how much they loved treehouses as a kid.”

But these treehouses are much more than just child’s play. In fact, most of the resort’s treehouses are fully equipped with the same amenities of a normal house, including electricity, heat, water and stairs.

Following suit, the resort offers other outdoor activities that don’t fall too far from the tree, like a giant zip-line to fly down, a giant tree-top spa and a treehouse building workshop.
