Linda Blair Temporarily Emphasizes Activism Over Acting

LOS ANGELES (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – You may not have seen actress Linda Blair much the last two years but that doesn’t mean she hasn’t been working like a dog.

In fact, she’s been working FOR dogs as an animal rights activist for the Linda Blair World Heart Foundation, an organization that fights against abuse of animals and humans.

She spent much of last fall helping to rescue 51 dogs who were victims of Hurricane Katrina and bringing them back to Los Angeles for rehabilitation.

Most of the dogs have found homes but Blair says six are left and she promises anyone who wants to adopt them that “they’re really nice dogs.”

She is currently raising money to build a new facility and says finding a property where she can have a kennel “is harder than working on The Exorcist.”

One way she did raise a little cash for her organization was by recently participating in a Celebrity LINGO tournament, with luminaries like Barry Williams, Linda Gray and Chuck Woolery, which airs on the GSN cable channel in December.
