Sandi Thom Is Talking ’Bout Her Generation – In The Basement

LOS ANGELES (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Using an internet webcam to successfully build and a following in the entertainment industry isn’t rare for young women these days, but for Sandi Thom, it’s not what you think.

Thom grabbed the music industry by the binary recently when she set up a webcast of a series of concerts in her own basement, invited people to check out her “21 Nights From Tooting” performances via – and watched the audience grow from 70 to 70,000 web viewers in just three weeks.

But Thom is not so sure she’s on the avant-garde edge, claiming: “Anybody could have done what I did, I was just lucky it worked out for me first.”

Thom was recently inked to Columbia Records, and is touring the States in advance of her Sept. 12 debut, Smile...It Confuses People.

But, as to whether future tours in honor of her basement debut could book dates in guest bathrooms, verandas, carports, laundry rooms and barns, Thom agrees that’s “definitely a possibility, why not?”

She adds: “The guys who shot my basement are working with The Who now, so anything can happen.”
