Hip Hop Singer Rihanna Still Adjusting To Culture Shock

NEW YORK (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Hip Hop singer Rihanna may be blowing up the American charts, but the Barbados native says she still hasn’t gotten over the culture shock.

The singer’s singles – “S.O.S.” and “Kisses Don’t Lie” have been seemingly everywhere this summer, even though the 18 year-old only moved to the United States about a year and a half ago.

Rihanna explains that, “In Barbados everything is so chill and relaxed.” But, she says the hyper-paced American environment is quickly forcing her to adjust, and just “go with it.”

She also had to brush up on the long-running Yankee soap opera All My Children – since it doesn’t air in Barbados – and she didn’t want to look clueless as she makes her acting debut on the show, which airs today (July 25).

Although Rihanna says she didn’t grow up watching Susan Lucci, the real-life actress who portrays the feisty Erica Kane character was “very sweet and supportive” of her time working on the Children set.
