‘Messengers’ Contestant Believes Laughter Really Is The Best Medicine

LOS ANGELES (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Divine inspiration strikes people in different ways, but one contestant on an upcoming reality show finds humor always helps when dealing with serious subjects.

Angelica Osborne is one of ten motivational speakers on The Messengers, – which debuts Sunday (July 23) on TLC – a show that has public speakers compete against each other for a chance to win a book deal and their own TV special.

Unlike the other contestants, Osborne doesn’t have a background in public speaking, but quickly learned that her gift for gab and sense of humor were her best secret weapons against the seasoned veterans.

Says Osborne: “I’m one hell of a talker and I can ramble forever.”

While other contestants rehearsed their speeches, Osborne opted to see how the audience responded to her.

Osborne – who is an actress when not motivating people – says she sees humor as a “buffer zone” and points out that, “It’s really hard when you’ve been talking about evident and non-evident truths, so you need to stop and laugh once in a while.”
