Pezheads Dispense Their Stories In New Flick

SAVANNAH, Ga. (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Filmmaker Chris Skeene says he first became fascinated with Pez when he was dating his wife and bought her $1 Pez dispensers instead of flowers.

Now, the couple’s collection has grown to more than 800 and Skeene has decided to share what he calls his “healthy obsession” with the world in a new documentary Pezheads: The Movie.

The film debuts July 21 at a Pez convention in Cleveland, Ohio, and Skeene says all the collectors who were “really nice and giving” have almost doubled his collection in a year and a half of filming because people kept giving him free memorabilia.

Says Skeene: “Collecting Pez is not just about making money, its about a community of people who enjoy happy things.”

One collector was so nice he didn’t even bat an eye when Skeene accidently broke one of his dispensers – even though it was worth around $500.

As Skeene puts it: “Pez collectors are aware that when it comes down to it they’re just plastic.”
