Book Worms Get Their Thrills At First Annual ThrillerFest

PHOENIX, Az. (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Phoenix, Arizona, is always hot in July but this weekend, it will also be a hot spot for thriller novelists.

Starting tomorrow (June 29), the city is about to celebrate its firstever “Thrillerfest,” an event featuring more than 50 published authors of suspense novels – and their thrill-seeking fans.

The event is hosted by International Thrill Writers and some of the writers who will be providing thrills and chills include Goosebumps author R.L. Stein and David Morrell, who wrote First Blood, the novel that first featured the legendary “Rambo” character.

Events include meet-and-greets with the authors, writing workshops and also mock trials and mock autopsies of events depicted in well-known novels.

As Morrell, who is also the co-president of ITW, puts it, “The mock presentations will depict things better than films, because thriller films aren’t as realistic as thriller novels.”
