Average 1-Year-Old Watches 80 Minutes Of TV A Day

WASHINGTON, D.C. (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Couch potatoes are getting younger every day if a new survey is correct.

According to research by the Kaiser Family Foundation, 61 percent of babies under the age of 1 watch at least 80 minutes of TV a day while kindergarten-aged kids watch two hours of the boob tube daily.

But that’s not necessarily a bad thing.

Two thirds of parents claim their kids imitate positive behaviors from TV, compared to 23 percent who say their kids picked up kicking and hitting behaviors from watching television.

In addition, 53 percent of parents say TV mellows out their rambunctious rug rats, and only 17 percent say the boob tube gets their kids all antsy.

Finally, 29 percent of two-year-olds have a TV in their bedroom, but 26 percent of parents who have a kid that age claim the child has NEVER watched TV at all.
