Coachella Not The Only Sound Of Palm Springs

PALM SPRINGS, Calif. (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – There was probably very little peace in the Coachella Valley this past weekend, but the big music festival isn’t the only noise coming out of the Palms Springs area these days.

That’s the skinny from Joel Fishman, who claims to be chronicling the changing, engaging sound of one of California’s most famous desert hot spots, Palm Springs, with his new record label, Mirada Records.

Palm Springs has long been a destination for crooning Rat- Packers, Spring Break revelers and geriatric retirees alike but Fishman says his high-falutin’ desert town is changing.

Says Fishman, “Palm Springs is no longer just a resort town, it’s so much more, and the artists we’re introducing to the world are going to reflect that.”

Fishman says stars like Frank Sinatra and Bing Crosby have a huge influence on his own roster of artists, and his marquee singer is Mike Costley, a neo-pop standards singer accompanied by a full orchestra.
